I think this is amazing. I just wanted to remember it as I am trying to figure out if it was done with crochet. It looks like surface stitches of slip stitch.

It's all done in chain stitch which is a very effective and attractive way to embroider (I think). http://www.embroiderersguild.com/stitch/stitches/chain.html
Re your clutter problem in previous post - have you tried http://www.flylady.net ? I highly recommend the flylady. Good luck with it.
